About Us

Forestry Services In Our Communities

We offer a range of services to educate communities in wildfire prevention, preparedness, and firefighting practices. Through our wildfire training programs and FireSmart initiatives, we share knowledge at all levels and support communities in reducing wildfire risk and strengthening resilience across Saskatchewan.

Firefighting

Our team provides training in combatting fires in rural and forested areas to our First Nation communities and neighbouring organizations. Whether a fire emergency breaks out in a community, at home, or in the forest, we want to make sure that those communities can respond, put out the fire, mitigate the spread and ensure impacted individuals receive medical attention. We are also able to support in providing relocation support in the event that someone’s home is lost in a fire through our Red Cross training.

Fire Investigation

Once a fire has been put out, we conduct an investigation into the cause of the outbreak. This is done to determine whether there was intentional malicious activity or if an incident occurred that could have been avoided with proper fire safety precautions. By performing these reviews, we’re able to continuously improve a community’s awareness of fire risks and reduce future threats.

Search & Rescue

We are the official Prince Albert Grand Council Search, Rescue and Recovery SARSAV Team in Saskatchewan. This means that SFNEM is able to assist families in finding their lost loved ones throughout First Nation communities with the resources and capacity needed to ensure that a thorough and expedient search can be conducted.
